About Jayne Morley and her Memorial Fund
The Jayne Morley Memorial Fund which was set up in October 2012, following Jayne’s tragic and sudden death, aged 55. Jayne who lived in Mountsorrel was not only a wonderful mother and wife, but selfless and had influenced countless people’s lives through her generosity and work as an ‘early years’ teacher at a number of Leicestershire Schools, but more latterly at Richard Hill School, Thurcaston.
During her teaching career she had been responsible for the Vale of Belvoir Choir and guitar group and for musical aspects of performances at school, especially at Christmas and festivals.

The Fund was set up to help young musicians, with a particular emphasis on singing, which Jayne was so actively involved in for the majority of her life. She was a multi skilled instrumentalist being able to play the piano, guitar, recorder and flute, as well as being a highly skilled singer, where as a member of the Leicester Church Music Consort she had sung with distinction at nearly every Cathedral and Abbey Church throughout England, including Westminster Abbey, York Minster and St Paul’s.

Through the kindness and generosity of many people and their tireless efforts fundraising, this small local charity has been able to support children and students since 2013 with a variety of projects including, vocal and instrumental tuition, scholarships, university fees, instrument purchase amongst others.

What we had always hoped for, was that this fund would be a lasting memorial to a loving, generous and quite remarkable lady, whom it has been our privilege to know. This dream has come to fruition, thanks to people’s generosity and through the fund Jayne’s legacy lives on and gives opportunities to individuals which would not otherwise have existed, this being particularly pertinent with the arts generally often lacking vital funding.

The charity is registered with HM Customs and Revenue for Gift Aid purposes.
